What the hell happended to this show??? I just started watching it again the other day. I never liked Stacey that much, but the two guys they've got on there now...Whats with meat head and his little bitch??? The show is like an infomercial with comercials...its one plug after the other (most likely a banks or bullydog diesel product). I keep waiting for a cage to drop out of the ceiling and the two of them to go at it WWF style for about then minutes before they get back to their regular acting job of bolting the same crap onto a different vehicle...I mean give it a break guys we all know how to plug in a chip and put in an airfilter for our new diesel tow rig...

The 'little bitch' as you call him, is Kevin Tetz from the Paint-u-Cation videos.

The other dude is literally an ex-WCW wrestler.

BTW, Stacy did exactly the same plug in controller-type of episodes, not once but twice. Sponsors pay the bills, so quid pro quo.

The Kevin guy is actually not that bad, It's the other gut that annoys me. I know Stacy did those plug in controller episodes...that's my point...we all know it exsists and we all know how to plug it in...moving on.

I hear ya. I'm actually disappointed with the entire "Power Block" line up. Started off good, but now it's "plug the products, and give 'em a tease on the tech / fab"

Horsepower: Sick of seeing them work on their personal vehicles. Chuck and his 15 Chevelles, Joe and his Mustangs, and that kid Mike who they needed to bring the rice into the mix..... although it seems Chuck has moved on as of late. And those product showcases where they say "If you want (product) you'll have to rid your wallet of (outrageous price)" Enough.

Muscle Car: That show is a complete joke. Yeah, I need to know how to build a crate Camaro that will require $50-60K to get close to finished..... Or "restore" a '70 Challenger using a crate Hemi and a $10K billet front suspension / k-frame. Lou is an over-acting hip-hop has been.

Trucks: Went from some decent fab and frame off building how-to, to the product bitch it is now..... nuf said already about the hosts.

Xtreme 4x4: Still worth watching and the hosts are genuine. I like the fact that they come from Tech College backgrounds and have teaching credentials under their belts. Jesse's voice can get a bit annoying, but something is kinda sexy about seeing her weld and fit tube. I wouldn't mind attending any fab class taught by Ian. Unfortunately, the show isn't afforded enough time to do any real detail about their builds.

I'd really like to see more realistic use of common tools in the builds. I know I'll never get to use an english wheel, cold wet saw, computerized tube bender or a water jet cutting table..... It's hard enough watching them being able to use a 2-post lift in the huge shop....

Rant off.

sorry for the hijack but i definately saw smackdown when it was in town like 1.5 months ago.

and got to see the TAKER!!!!!!!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c138/Varcolaci/WWE_Undertaker.jpg

just recently got into wrestling, i think there is a massive stereotype that people think the matches arent predetermined. it is a storyline- its like a regular tv sitcom, except with some of the most mind boggling athletics on television. its one thing to say they arent actually hitting each other in the face, another to say (sitting on your couch) dude i could totally jump off a 12 foot ladder and break you over a folding table and not f**k myself up

that said
god trucks does suck

however, did anyone see the episode where stacy tricked out the tj for the kid? i thought that was awesome- and compeltely saved that show in my opinion.

the kid was a little bitch of all little bitches and stacy showed him whos boss. the kid was a c omplete mall crawler- stacy put the soft top down, took the doors off, takes the kid offroading. comes around a bend plowing through mud at 20mph, looks at the kid and goes "whats the point of having a jeep with the top on!" and proceeds to hit a HUGE mud puddle- showering them in mud, covering everything in the tj.

the kid is all like pissed off and not enjoying himself
i was like id give my left nut to have stacy put 20k into my imaginary tj and take me out, realise how lucky you are you little s**t

I just about coudn't agree more. I do like extreme 4x4 and yes jessie turns me on alittle too. I think they should just cut trucks completley and devote an hour to extreme. As far as musclecar, I can't afford any of it but they do build some nice projects...

at least there's tech involved in musclecar. Sure I'll never afford it, but they built and explained a 4 link in one show I saw, and it was very informative.
extreme 4x4 is decent, but they really can't show much of anything in 30 minutes, trucks went to hell, those guys are morons. At least Stacey built cool stuff, like a gladiator. I've not seen anything older than 03 some on the new trucks.

Stacy may have had the 80's rock hair style, but at least he had the personality for TV and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. I understand that they have to pay the bills, but the product plugs are definetly taking over. I don't care for the two stooges on the show now. It's like the big guy tries too hard to sound tuff and the the other fellow is just there for the paycheck. Their fake enthusiasm for what they are doing just isn't working at all.

the entire "powerblock" is a joke, anyone who thinks there is anything going on other than a long commercial and sugar coated softcore tech, is fooling themselves.

Garbage...nothing but garbage.

Only good program to watch is extreme4x4 but you got to wonder how skilled they are if the front end of one of their projects expodes (ford ranger project). I think the front end just fell apart (poor welds/not enough support). Anyways, very sexy to see some T&A (the host-forgot her name and of course Jesse).

Trucks has been destroyed.
Did anyone see the last episode where they were rebuilding a supposedly "Unreliable" classic ford truck(cant remember the year) But it just kinda pissed me off that they think because it doesnt have a 10K suspension and motor that its "unreliable". And then they say there going to throw away the fenders because "They're covered in rust" and you can clearly see that they're in near perfect shape. I mean, I get that they're trying to make the truck better but dont start calling it "Unreliable and junk the fenders cause theres a little surface rust in the wheel well.

I actually liked Extreme untill the hacked that FJ-60 and bobtailed it...Bunch of freaks, If your gonna make a trail rig, why would you start out with something that has that poor of a departure angle anyway! The only Yota's I like are the 40's and 60's and they look good stock, leave em' alone.

My .02 worth.

I'm feelin' cranky like 5-90, cause I turn old(40) in a couple of days!

does anyone actually know what happened to stacey?? that guy was my hero! although he had maybe two cheesy ideas, one being the daily driver dodge with the gay sticker on the side labeling it "the power wagon or whatever mobile thing", that guy still kicked ass! for starters, he had a mullet! and he did legit work, and he played a mean guitar! and no one can bash on a WWII power wagon on 2 1/2 tons and 49 inch iroks, not to mention the efing .50 cals mounted on the back!, what ever happened to that rig?? i followed the build up and longed for the next episode, then one day, spike t.v. bitch slaps me with the producers nephew and the washed up wrestler they found working carl's jr! (thats just my logic). and did anybody see the episode where they take a stock jeep rubi and redo it with street tires, and then give it chrome tube bumpers and side steps and a chrome grill??? what the hell is that!? its like they just read about chrome in the news paper and had to destroy a kick ass rig with it, i wanted to kick there faces and hope that would be enough to help them realize that its not 1992 any more!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh!!!!! (sorry about all that, but trucks was my favorite show....) i would like to end this with my favorite quote from the big dumb animal who just mumbles alot (vince?), "since this new rubicon is probably gonna see more "mall than crawl" (by the way start with a F__king sport model dumb ass) we're gonna swap on some street tires for a smoother, more comfortable ride..."

i still watch the power block. i watch it for it's entrainment value. not to see what's out there that's new, innovative, and worthy. i'll do that research elsewhere...where they're not getting sponsorship from the products.

but i must say that i find myself not paying as much attention to Trucks when it's on now.

does anyone actually know what happened to stacey??

holy shit i couldn't have said it better myself. after the "restoring the paint on a tj" episode, i don't watch that gayness. i miss the "tubbing out the nova" and "copperhead sheetmetal" type stuff. i too was wondering what happened to stacy and that last project...

i thought stacey was ok, hell of a mechanic/ bodyworker. i loved the fact that he loved my two favorite things, horsepower and off-roadin. as far as commercials, look people go to college to get marketing degree's so that they can make a ton of money off us. the more popular a show becomes the more people want to advertise on it and it also drives up the cost. just look what it costs for a super bowl ad nowdays.

only show i like to watch on there is xtreme 4x4. i've watched all those shows for years and years.. like way back when they still had shadetree mechanic and it was TNN. like you guys said, it's really unrealistic spending 80K to build a "crate camaro". only thing i'm liking is the budget S10 trucks! has been building... that's a little more down to earth and i can actually see someone building that.

stacey left b/c spike TV wouldnt let him to more in-depth shows and a more how to hands on approach and thats what his new show is gonna be.

the "little red wagon" i think your refering to is a bad ass truck in person. i met up with stacey pulling out of a gas station in franklin tn not long ago.

as far as the new trucks hosts: GAY the muscle head use to be in a vaccume cleaner commercial with a heart tattoed on his sholder the other guy should have stayed in the paint booth.

the rubi build up: GAYYYY they said that the rubi they "built" was what jeep should have put out from the factory. o sure lets make a jeep with D44s and lockers, and throw some A/T tires on it and a bunch of chrome. GAY. i cant stand people that buy rubicons, and dont wheel them. there are several kids at my school with rubis. (i live in williamson co TN, richer part of TN) and those jeeps never see any thing but pavement. the only reason they got them was b/c mommy and daddy wanted a nice car for them and they got the most expencive wrangler they could find. (FYI i payed for my jeep and all my crap) "More mall than crawl" just b/c its new?! i have plently of friends (older and out of school with jobs) with new rubicons that wheel the hell out of them.

muscle car: gay
horse power: gay
trucks: use to be awesome, now, gay
extream 4x4: wouldnt be as gay if they built a rig i could afford. im sick of the no budget, 100k tube buggys and aluminum jeeps

as far as the front end falling apart on the ranger, supposedly it was due to a grade 5 bolt holding on a lower link but i dont know if they were just makin excusesses for there rigs falling apart

end rant
