High rev while shifting

When i bring it up past 3,000 RPMs, if i go to shift the gas pedal stays on the floor after my foot has come off it/while im putting in the clutch. When this happens and the clutch is disengaged it will just rev up to like 4500 almost at redline until i dump the clutch or it decides to stop. Its usually worse in 1st gear than any other, but it will happen in the other gears. Why is it doing this? I just replaced the TPS like a week ago, but since the pedal is literally sticking i dont think its related. TIA

Check that your accelerator cable is not worn/frayed. Also make sure it is lubricated. Another possible problem is that you may have a cable laying against the linkage on the motor.
