zj dana 35 coil conversion

just wondering , has anyone threw a zj axle in the rear and kept the coil setup?

i know , i know . . . why would someone replace a dana 35 with the same axle

im just wondering , maybe someone out there wanted to kept it as a non off orad xj

it sounds like a good idea if your looking for a smooth ride DD

im just asking a simple question i dont need that BS or flames

pictures? stories?

Get a good set of leaf springs and properly valved monotube shocks. I run 3.5" RE springs with edelbrock IAS shocks on my DD and it rides almost as smooth in the back as the coils up front. Way less hassle and money.
 
You'd have to fab LCA's with enough curve to mount to the stock LCA location as well as figure out the goemetery to mount uppers. Then there's the trac bar location and mount......

Probably be a big PITA. Now if you were doing this with a MJ D44 or larger leaf spring setup axle it might be worth the trouble.

Maybe a reverse Long Arms setup to mount the rear.
