Floor Pan question ('95+ specific)

Hey guys, it's been mentioned in a few of the floor pan threads, but I haven't seen anybody explain how they've dealt with the crossmember in newer XJs that the front of the seat bolts to. Part of me want's the cut up my pan and piece it in around this thing, but I also want to do it right. Has anybody cut this thing out of the trans hump and unibody rail and welded it back after replacing their floor? Specifically, I'm wondering if it can be removed without mangling it, the outside frame rail or the area of the trans hump too badly.
Thanks

If you are concerned about the body warping you can always weld in some temporary bracing before cutting out the seatmounting and until the new floor is put in.
