I will be in Kent for the next week on business...
Where should I hit for some decent food??
I prefer American style cuisine. But I'm not into real upscale places.
The people I'm working with like upscale Asian places.
A good cold beer, and a good sandwich is a nice ending to a day to me.
Help me out!!!!

The Ram at Kent Station, for one. :) In house brewery and as American as cuisine can get. :D

Is there a Pacific Northwest BBQ???
I've had Texas-style(way too much hot sauce), Kansas City(more of a sweeter sauce), New Orleans(again, very hot, not as tasteless as Texas), and Memphis(Sweet and Tangy, extremely good)

Branks in Sumner. For American food, there's a Dennys off Hwy 18 in Auburn. I don't know about Kent though. I don't like that place. If I dropped my keys in Kent, I'd kick them all the way to Fed Way before I bent over to pick them up again. :)

Yea, was going to go there tonight, but was packed like always.
Another good place is The Wing Dome, if you are into chicken wings.

I'm pretty damn jealous.... I drove past a Central 4x4 shop from the plant to the hotel. There was a lifted red XJ in the parking lot. I wish I had a 4x4 shop nearby, even a crappy one.

I didn't either. That's why there are smileys included. If someone who hadn't seen pics of ECKSJAY's rig read it, they may have seen it that way. Was just a joke.
Edit: Never mind, I just reread his post, maybe he was refering to C4WD as being crappy. Forget I even mentioned it.

I think he was saying he wanted a 4x4 shop where he lives, even if it is a crappy one. Which would be better than nothing. ;)
Anyways, I forgot already. :wierd:

IIRC ECKSJAY II is not red. So there is only one conclusion we can come to here. Phil is cheating on ECKSJAY II with a crappy red lifted XJ:anon:

Bingo.... I live in a town of 1100 people, in the middle of farm country.
Is Cedar River SmokeHouse any good? The manager of the place I'm working recommended it....

Depends on the day... I don't recall a red one being here today. :D At the present there's a 6" lifted black '01 on 33s and my ~7" lifted turquoise 96 on 37s.
Swing on in next time (except tomorrow, I don't work Tuesdays) and say HI.

It was parked right in the front, about 3:30 this afternoon. It had the spare strapped to the roof rack with ratchet straps(which is what caught my eye at first). I will try, can't promise anything. First day of the project, and its already fubar. The 'IT/RF specialists' installed a bunch of the equipment wrong. I've only got 3 AP's working, and the antennas for two of those are on the outside of the building. My WMS guns won't connect to the server, and half the building still isn't located. Its not going to be a fun week (Come on Friday....)

Went to the Keg Bar and Grill for lunch today. Kinda upscale for me.... food wasn't bad, and free shrimp will always get my vote.
One thing I noticed.... 4000 Asian joints, even a vegetarian one but no Wal*Mart. I would ask if you guys hate cheap chinese crap, but the Harbor Freight Tools store is about 6 blocks from where I'm working...

An oddball place I like:
Agua Verde Cafe down by the UW medical center
Interesting Mango Margaritas.
Still can't figure if I like or not.
Guess I'll have to go get on on Tuesday to figure it out.

Thanks for all the suggestions.....
With my limited schedule, I ended up hitting Gator's(as it was between the Hotel and the plant). VERY VERY Good. Plus having Fat Tire on tap was a MAJOR bonus.(Can't get it east of the Mississippi).
Stay tuned to this thread, this life long midwestern may soon be a volcano worshipping, owl hugging, tree kissing, Washingtonian. I've already been offered two jobs with my company there, one that already existed and one that the division manager wants there.
God I hope I can still get Direct TV, there is NO WAY IN HELL I am watching the Seahawks....

I'm a logistics supervisor for the largest concrete construction products manufacturer in the world. The company doesn't want me to leave. They transferred my old job to the LA area, the manager there and I have butted heads on many occasions, so he wouldn't hire me. But my division manager wants to create a job for me in Kent. He just has to get HR to offer me enough of a package to get my family and I there. The area was VERY attractive. Lots of hills, and tons of water. A huge change from living here in corn country. I have to get used to not seeing cornfield after cornfield, or cows all the time.

How about living somewhere there is no traffic, affordable houses, and plentiful jobs in certain industries?
I can get you a 1900 sq ft, 4 bdr, 1.5 bath for under 80k....
