Was just watching last night about cougar attacks on Vancouver Island. Guy had a cougar latched onto his head. He started stabbing with a lock-blade Gerber and managed to hit the carotid. Cat damaged his right eye and scalped him pretty bad but was taken out by a 2 3/4" blade. Of course, with a cougar you don't you don't get a warning.

What happened to the old saw about dogs attracting bears? I used to hear that back in the '60s and '70s. I don't say that I ever believed that, but if you're going to take a dog into bear country you need to decide before hand whether he's just bait or he's going to be your partner.
