has anyone used the stock shocks from another vehicle on a xj with a 3-4 in. lift if so what fits:rolleyes: i think i might be selling it soon but the shocks are shot;)

Yj shocks work well in the front, they are 3 inches longer.

its the rear that broke do yj's have the same rear mts and will they work

88-96 Ford F250 4WD will work in the rear they are a little over 3 inches longer, but just like the yj shocks if you don't have BPEs you will have to press the barpin out of your existing shocks and into the new shocks. try this site if for shock info. http://billyxj.tripod.com/shocks/shocks.html

thanks for the info after measureing my jeep at full stuff it looks like the 91-94 explorer rear shocks are a direct bolt in :cool: :cool:

Why do folks insist on running shocks for anything BUT and XJ? LOL

If you're buying new, the cost is ususally the same...

got the explorer shocks 12 bucks each at napa.the only thing i had to do was change the botom rubber from the old ones.24 bucks for new rear shocks now to find front ones
