Help, need info on my dana30 w/3.55

I searched, but couldnt find a definate answer.

I have a hp dana 30 rev rotation with stock 3.55 gears.

My question is can i change to 4.56 gears without changing my carrier. I heard there there is a carrier cut off size.

Please post if you know for sure i can upgrade to 4.56 without changin the carrier....

From what I remeber, the cut off is 410's.

I had to change my 30 carrier for 456's

For the D30 it is 3.73 and numerically higher and 3.55 and lower.

You will need to get a carrier.

sometimes you can buy what is called thick gears which will fit certain carriers, try randys ring and pinion and see what they have

ok last question, since i need a new carrier, can i still use my detroit ez-locker in the new carrier?

i hope i can , or i wont be regearing!

All the drop in lockers can be swapped between all the open carriers for the -30.
