Is out of touch with either reality or logic. Is it me, or is it the courts?

The ordinance passed in Texas, as in Hazelton, did not seek to place any controls upon immigration - as I read them. That is indeed the job of the Federal Government. Uncle Sam sez if someone can come in legally or not.
What these ordinances - and others like them - seek to do is to make is more difficult for people who are not here legally to make a life for themselves. It doesn't say who can or can't come in - just that it's going to be very hard for you if you are here without consent of law.
It doesn't seek to control immigration - just to penalise those who are following the rules to get here.
So, who's missing something here? Is it me, or is it the "Men in Black?"
