Its funny how they didn't include a Jeep in the first video. What were they afraid of. And that Hummer! Well, we all know what Hummers can't do.

I don't think the first video had a Jeep because I believe they are comparing 'new' models. 2006/2007 and those are 'luxory' makes/models as well. The only new Jeep that could really compete off-road would be the new Wrangler 2 or 4 door... but those aren't really 'luxory' vehicles. It's a cool show though. But yeah, quite a bit of 'American cars sux0rs' stuff... oh well. It happens.

Is he anti american or just telling the truth? maybe theres a reason why none of the American car company's aren't making any money. I think Top Gear is one of the best car shows on TV and yes there a little biased to European cars but they do have some of the most accurate reviews.

Newsflash 2:

American automakers have not produced a decent automobile in many years, as far as a luxury vehicle? Not even close.

Sorry them be the facts.

I know that.

My first wheeling trip was in a Disco. A/C on, having a beverage over everything in the forest.

Unfortunately, the American automakers have painted themselves into a corner. They make cheap vehicles with the same price tag as a European import.

Neither does the UK.

Jap cars are great but the rest of the worlds vehicles suck.

Comparing American cars to UK crap? Ha...thats funny. Land Rover, Jaguar and the others are some of the worst made junk on the planet.

I dunno, BMW's service hasn't exactly been infallable.

I can only speak to the service I have witnessed personnaly.

Land Rover, Mercedes, and Volvo have been fantastic, nothing even close from Buick, Pontiac, or Jeep.

Despite the Dr's comments.....we have had far fewer issues with our Land Rover then any new domestic I have bought. When there is an issue...it gets handled...free and on time.

Again....just my personnal experiances.

I saw a video they did where they put a full size dodge truck up against some kind of lightweight full bore race car on a road course, and then bitched cause the car out performed the truck. well,no shit sherlock? then they said that the only thing a truck is good for is dating your sister. what a bunch of bull fecal matter!! I will never waste time watching a video from them again.

is it me or did that rover get stuck the second it actually left the road, and so did the others, but the show only made an issue out of the others getting stuck off the road.

looks to me like the escalade tried exactly what the rover did, but they just left it like that instead of backing out

all i saw was a bunch of luxury cars driving up a dirt road to the top with a bit of an obvious bias

So how come the Hummer and sclade are driving off the roads, and the Rover is driving on the road?

And pretty sure Rovers are made by a certain small American car company.

That being said, the Rovers are actually fairly capible. Wouldnt trade on for my Jeep, but they actually do fairly well.

I'd love to see how well any relatively stock Cherokee would have done there compared to those trucks.

hmm strange no merceds g500 to spank them all, noticeably missing the landcruiser/lexus lx470, the gx470 has all the fancy gadgetry of the range rover and much better quality price and resale and well everything. and cheaper. hill decent program can do the same thing as that "bloody" range rover.

ohh yeah lastly i have seen h3 hummer zip up MUCH steeper much looser sand that that. Bone stock.

Not impressed if that was the range rover being put through its paces. Clearly it was hack driving bad lines and a planned out come for the eska'lad as he called it and the hum'vee which is as capable as the rover.

cough *fake*

i have seen worse terrain conquered by awd minivans. Notice it does have a beaten path up to the top, yet for some reason the escalade turns 90 degrees in to steep grade you know it would high center on. Never bothered to explain what happened to the hummer.

fricken brits.

My father had an 85 XJ with the 2.8 V6 that he put 176,000 miles on without so much as ever changing an Alternator. It never leaked oil and ran like a champ since the day he bought it.

I wouldn't put my faith in Land Rover just because you got a good one. I'm sure there were some great running Pintos and Vegas out there too. In fact I would take one of them over a Land Rover any day of the week.

the more i thought about it that clueless bloke has allot of nerve. First the english electrical systems blow, second the english auto industry is in the crapper, other than land rover playing second and third fiddle to landcruisers, and nissan patrols in many 3rd world countries they have nothing to be proud of AT ALL. All the major marks that have any stature we bought out by foreigners (us and germany mostly), bentley no longer 100 english, rolls royce no more 100 % english, jaguar and aston martin are gussied up fords. We and the germans poor billions and got them into the 20th century and they still cant turn profits. Great names, crappy cars. No one wants the domestic english mass market cars.

minis are good but basically a 100 % bmw design.

Lotus is sweet but so low volume as to not even count as anything to be proud of as a source of national pride. there is local pontiacdelers that sell more cars than all of lotus world wide and pontiac sucks.

some one run the old english bastid over with a japanese dumptruck.

i like lots of foreign cars so i am not a america horn tooting idiot (though i never owned a foreign car my self ) i do lust for lotus elise, foreign market diesel lj70 landcruiser that was never sold in america, lotus 7, porsche 911, and a buch of jap sports cars, turbo rx, 2nd gen turbo mr2, turbo 300zx. I want them all. That english dude can eat my taint though

should compare a escort to mr beans 3 wheel car, or those ridiculous 2 stroke paper-bike-plastic-death vehicles they sold in the 60s. laughable

Why the hell do you even care what someone across the Ocean thinks of American cars.

Sounds like small penis syndrome to me.

The show has a lot of good qualities too. Some of the funniest crap I have ever seen. Not to mention its pretty cool to watch a jeep race a snowmobile across the water.

Grow up and grow a thicker skin.

So they don't like American cars? Boo fawking hoo. Face it, our cars aren't generally very well suited for daily English driving anyway! And we do fail fit and finish pretty hard core a lot of times, something that guy is real particular about...

Aside from that it's the best car show out there. I always get a laugh when I see it and it would be SO MUCH FUN to work for 'em, they do crazy shit with their cars that our shows would NEVER do!

PS - Ryan, your dad got the one good 2.8 in the world!

he that brit has more sand in his vag than me, i like the looks of jags they are beautiful, a 89 towncar is a great 500,000 mile taxi with an engine rebuild at 250k, a 89 jag is a worthless money pit. He is pandering to the unknowning UK crowd, they dont get to see our best stuff in top form on the streets do they ? I am pretty sure i see more nice jags (not the x type awd POS), Astons, bentleys and ltous then UK sees 8.1 liter full size chevy trucks. hasta

the state of their marques and industry and how it sells abroad with the exception of the UK marques that are foreign owned no one buys UK made cars they are crap.

what a pos this guy is he basically says that all americans are backward and participate in incest, what a fag and these have to be some of the worst comparisons ive ever seen, that guy is nowhere near man enough for a ranger let alone a lightning and the dash in the lightning looks like they took a f__king baseball bat to it, it sad really i wish i could afford a beamer cuz an f150 is such a pos and cant do have as much as a mercedez.

The guys in the know had figured out long ago, that you get more car for the buck, buying American. Even with the shortcomings, gas mileage and often they don't fit in the parking spaces over here.
The only reason you don't see more of them, is because of the import taxes and protectionism. To get a decent American car (truck or van) here (say a short bed pickup, V-8, interior package, alu rims) and , you have to dish out $60-70 and then the importer won't provide the basic guarantee. And they still sell a bunch of them.

Im sure hes just trying to stur up some drama. It really is a cool show to watch.
