How dirty do you let your K&N/ Airaid filters get

i went through a bunch of mud and i didnt think id get as much on as i did i took off the filter and nothing went through so am i good to go or should i clean it

I'd probably clean it if you got mud on the filter itself.

I mean with all that mud, it's probably being restrictive and all.
