So I had to take the XJ off the road today. It'll be down for about 3-4 months until all the projects are done. Got the axles and front suspension sold already, so that's a plus. The new additions are:
-TNT frame stiffeners
-TMR front frame stiffeners
-TNT front suspension/belly pan
-TNT D44 truss
-HP dana 44, 8 lug
-HD dana 60 full float rear, 8 lug
-going to make the Chevy outers work with F-250/350 dual piston calipers
-Chevy 3/4 ton rear disc's
-High steer Chevy knuckles
-custom steering and trac bars
-Rock Lizard Fab side panel armor
-adding an endo hoop to the front bumper
-swapping my rear ARB to the front and getting a 35 spline ARB for the 60
-narrowing my Warn 8K winch to the Warn 9RK specs
-cutting the front bumper up, making it into a winch bumper while keeping the same approach angle

This one is gonna be a bit expensive, but I think the hardest blow is taking it off the road again. I'm going about 2" lower than where it was sitting before for a grand total of about 5.5" of lift. I'm shooting for a lower COG than I had before while upgrading the unsprung weight. Here's a few picts of this weekends progress...

for being 53guy you shure look like a girl. Nice pose tho. That the new Naxja pose??

Awaiting seeing finished project, looks good so far.

That's the wifey pose.....sucka! The next picts will probably be in a week or so when I get the stiffeners. I still have to figure out who I'm gonna steal a 220 mig from first though. My little 110 just isn't gonna cut it for this project.

something about jeeps bieng up on jack stands and no axles is a sad thing

what bumper set ups are those? custom?

Sorta kinda. They're both Rigid Co bumpers, but they've been added to enough that they really only resemble the Rigid ones. The ones that you see are a few of Terry's earlier models. The new rear is a tad bit cleaner seeing how it's all made on the same jig now and the latch isn't ghetto fabbed like mine was. The rear comes in that style and with a swing arm. The end caps are options as well....either like you see them or ones that don't require you to trim the quarders.

kick ass write up you did there! much more professional than this will turn out to be!

Yeah, you weren't kidding when you said this was going to be a big project! Give me a call if you want an "unskilled" hand.

Dude, if you feel like driving out to Goochland, I'd love a hand....especially when we put the axles in.

That is 53guy in the second picture I bet.
Glad to see your wifes operation went well. Now that her sight is restored how long is she gonna keep you around??? LMAO ! ! ! !

JUST KIDDING you guys are toooooo serious. BTW your wife is beautiful I'm envious of you even if that ain't you in the second pic.

cool build I just bought a hpd44 and ford 9" from a 76 ford so I'll have to keep my eye on your build. What bracket kit are you using? TNT? what about for leaf spring perches?

TNT truss and this for my shock/lower arm/spring perches....from ballistic fabs. for the front.

I plan on chopping it a bit and lowering the coil placement about an inch or so. The rear, I don't know, I'll find some spring perches somewhere. Not really that worried about the rear. I'm not doing anything crazy special like U-bolt eliminators or anything if that's what you were asking.

Yeah, I'd be willing to do that one Saturday or Sunday...after all you did come to my house on your friggin anniversary! I still can't believe Liz was cool about that (or she didn't show how pissed at you she was)

So why so quick to ditch the Waggy/Isuzu Dana 44s? That was just a few months ago, wasn't it? In case you're curious -- and I know your not -- I beat the heck out of your old 8.25 at Rausch Creek last weekend and it held up fine.

Nice. That 8.25 is a nice axle no matter what people say. I'm replacing the axles because I got a HP 44 about two weeks after I got the jeep running again. I was really wanting to run a HP and I thought it was worth the effort to do it again. And this time I have a 60 rear for a few hundred less than the dana 44 that I put in there before. I wasn't entirely happy with running the wheel spacers and I didn't like where the calipers where placed. I kept coming down on them and its worth it to me to redo them anyways. And everthing else....well, they were just projects that I was going to do anyways and now is a great time to do them.

What's TMR Front Frame Stiffeners???
