REAR BRAKE CONVERSION KIT

I used the kit on the heep....I bought the calipers and hanger hardware and brake lines locally at autozone...I didnt use the parking brake....I like the fact that all the wearing parts are off the shelf...made a HUGE improvement...

I did it also on the last XJ I had...NICE set up. I recently did my own 'conversion' on my waggy 44 in my current...but will probably go ahead and get the tsm kit as I liked it much better.

No e-brake is a bad idea. It sort of works in FL were it is FLAT, but anywhere you need to stop on a hill it is not a good idea. Also, if you have a line or something else blow you can use the e-brake to stop.

I just installed this kit:

Comes with everything. If you buy the e-brake cables as well you have a complete bolt on kit.

I used the FORD SVO verson of this kit on my last axle, which required drilling of the backing plates for the axle flange bolt pattern to line up. On my Xj 44 that I almost have together, I bought everything that comes in the Tera kit from the dealer (same price for me) from a 2002 TJ D44 and thought it to be bolt on, but soon discovered that the XJ D44 flange pattern and the TJ flange pattern are different......TJ pattern=ZJ pattern=D35. Some minor welding and drilling solved the problem.

Short story, the kit works great. Verify that the Tera kit is bolt on for an XJ D44 first though.

If you really want to see a bigger improvement in braking, spend your money on the Vanco kit for the front, more bang for the buck, but I'm doing both.
