Greatest paintball event in the world. I am a 3 year vet. and going on my 4th year. check it out, you just might be interrested. (yes ok, I know I can't spell)
This is a week long game. It's pretty awesome. Great camping!
They also have 4x4 events every once in awhile. Search the site! I've seen some of the jeeps that go down there and they don't mess around! :woohoo:

Well Id go if I was close to Oklahoma. I travel the 7 hours once a year to play at Skirmish Paintball in Pennsylvania with a group of people that have been going for a few years now. The tippmann castle there is pretty sweet. They also do a D-Day event I'm pretty sure.

The difference is Skirmish is a large very unorganized speedball game.
At OK D-DAY you have actual units, squads within units, commanders 710 acre field. 10,000 people show, around 4000 play. It all goes down simontamiously, There are many missions going on at once on field. So you could run into a allie or german going for a completely different objective. It is just all around more of a D-Day feel. EVERYONE there is awesome. It is a great experience.

I am a 3 year vet.
vet? Look. I'm glad you're having fun 'n all, but could we save that word for the real thing. I'm not putting you down or calling you unpatriotic or anythng, and I'm not putting down paint ball - it's just 'veteran' means something.

It does. Generally speaking, "veteran" means someone has done something before, or for a period of time. "Ten-year veteran schoolteacher" comes to mind.
When an occupation or a hobby is not listed, common usage assumes "military veteran."
If you're going to call yourself a "vet," perhaps "veteran paintballer" would be more appropriate... In that sense, I'm a fifteen-year "veteran paintballer," on and off, typically indoor (which reminds me of MOUT.) I stopped upgrading once I got my VM-68, although Ariakon has a couple of interesting markers with low profiles (for when I want to play sniper) and Tippmann's new A-5 looks like it might be an upgrade from my VM...

Yeah, you're right. Although, I think it wouldn't hurt to use the qualifier. As much fun as paintball is, I don't feel like a 'vet'. But then, I've only been out a couple of times.

Nothing personal - it's just me tilting at windmills again. We've enough trouble with "journalists" and "marketeers" misappropriating words as it is, I'm just trying to keep things straight at a low level...

Maybe paintball vets could form a new group - Veterans of Domestic Paint Wars. They could sit around on Saturday nights and tell paint war stories, and march in parades and hold turkey shoots.
Just pullin' you leg :D
Funny thing - When I was a kid (maybe 8 or so) I thought VFW stood for "Veterans For Wars." Even at 8 I thought it was odd that vets would like war. I thought they would have had enough of it. I don't know how old I was before I realized it was "...of Foreign..."

ive never been big into the scenario games, but of course i started playing in the woods years ago. i almost made it down to big game in NY somewhere a couple weeks ago to have some fun with camo-clad woodsballers but the drive wasnt worth it. once i got into x-ball a few years ago i never really looked back
