Not technically, but I did move 18,000# of rock today. My landscaping is now done, the house is ready to sell, minus the painting of the rear patio cover.

It started as a barren back yard, with a 7'x3.5' concrete slab. I tore that out, and poured a 7'x23' concrete slab, seen here:

Then, I added this:

eat me Bob Villa.

And today, I added this:

My wife shoveled and raked. My Mom shoveled and raked, and I ran the wheelbarrows. My Dad shoveled in between breaks, but this was his first physical activity since beating cancer a few months ago, and I gotta say I am damn proud of him.

Moving rock in 102* weather sucks....plain and simple.

Now, anyone interested in a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in a nice, quiet, eastside Tucson neighborhood?

Doing anything in 102* sucks. :D

Looks much nicer than it originally did. Hopefully your "sweat equity" pays off. Good luck.

Thank you, I'm proud of the sweat I've put in to it, even if it doesn't sell for what I want, the fact that my hands and skills built it matter to me.

And yup, me and my Dad sat down and grilled up some brats and had a beer.

Pick that whole thing up and bring it to Cali and I'll take it.

Should've rented a Bobcat or at least a few hombres from Home Depot.

Otherwise good job.

Someday I'll post a few pics of my projects, patio cover, front patio, planters w/ stone veneer, bay window, etc.

how come when it comes time to sell we do all this work??
seems like the last month or 2 i was in my last house all i was doing was fixing it up.... to sell it.
glad i got rid of the last house though..
moved to bigger(10 acres) and better(4 bedroom ranch)
it definetly looks alot better than it did.
how come you didnt just sod it?
just curious?
or cant you grow grass in tuscon?
Pump trucks are nice arent they.
just poured a small foundation with a pumper. takes all the work out of a basement wall.
