The UK has introduced a new series of laws called 'corporate manslaughter' and 'corporate homocide'....however it look like the 'managment' is still shielded from direct prosecution so they can still hide behind the corporate legal standing and not be held accountable...

It's a start. I'd like to start seeing directors and senior management held DIRECTLY and PERSONALLY responsible as well, but it's going to take a while. Part of the reason, I think, is that "middle management" might screw up the occasional good decision by senior management, and tracking that down can e a nightmare.

However, the possibility that some managerial type might get canned "with prejudice" for doing something that lead to a "Corporate Homicide" judgement still exists - and that would open the door for a civil suit as well, I'd think.

I will agree it is a start. There are many things that need work.

I tend to think of it like uprooting a tree. The older the tree is and if you have done nothing to control where it grows, it just gets entangled and it takes forever to get it trimmed back and cut away from everything.
