Open or limited slip?

Is there a way to find out if u have an open or limited slip rear end without taking the cover off?

There should be a tag wrapped around your axle that tells you the gear ratio, as well as if it's an open or locked case. On mine, the tag is right behind the right rear tire and it reads "3.55 open" I believe it also says Chrysler 8.25 on it as well...
