Why you should always swap out your old manifold hardware

Found this under the XJ when I was checking for leaks last night:



I skipped doing the studs when I replaced the exhaust manifold since I was in a hurry to get it smogged. Now I'll be tearing everything down and figuring out how to get the rest of it out of the block.

And yeah, it was the one in the back. That's what I get for being lazy.

I did get everything out in about 35 minutes this morning, hopefully I'll get it all back together with little or no problems (knock on my head).

Off to find some brass thread stock and nuts!
