so, SOME of you may know about my dachshund, Rocky.
He's a standard, weighs about 19 lbs. Overall a pretty cool little dude.

Cool! Now you have a mini-weiner! No wait, you have 2 weiners!

My wife has mentioned getting a little dog. I'm just not ready for another.

School me.
Dapple is refering to his black and tan coloring?

yes, dapple refers to his markings. I'll get a better picture.
He's actually grey, with black markings all over. He's only got some tan on his face and his feet.

so far they're playing well together. Rocky's not being too rough, and the little guy wants to fight.

I'm sure you big dog fans won't be so happy when your big dog doesn't make it past 7-8 years...

and who the hell needs a big dog to make them feel manly?

men who are compensating for inadequacies...

That's who.

enjoy your big dogs... may you cry like little bitches at the vet's office.

it's not the size of the dog afterall.
Rocky fears no dogs, he went and picked a fight with my neighbors lab. He lost, but hey, now they're friends.
You all realize what doxies were bred for right?
We'll see how bullwinkle turns out. he didn't cry or bark all night, and seems to be intelligent.

Always had dobes, german shepards, then the wife who always wanted a westie got one, great dog, he's hitting 14 now and can't quite make it up on the couch like he used to but he's still a puppy at heart. The first time I took him out in the jeep he was so damn happy he coulda shit, in fact he did, right in the passenger seat, lucky we feed him dry food...:D

first time wheeling with rocky he was still a puppy. He wrapped his claws under the center console lid on a hill climb, then knocked it out of gear.
he gets a harness now, and seems much more comfortable with it :)

Oh, my 10 year old Akita? Ooh, I'm on borrowed time... Not compensating for anything. I'm a big guy and like big dogs. Its great to not have to bend over to pet my dog. Better yet, my dogs answer the door with us. EVERYBODY takes a step or more back. Some salesman hawking magazines nearly fell off the front steps...

Shoot, I get special treatment at the vets. Right in right out, no waiting. You see, big dogs in the waiting area make others really nervous...

My big dogs don't jump on people. I don't let them bark all night either. In fact, I had been in my current house for 6 months before one neighbor even KNEW I had 3 dogs (now the little yappy dog is the noisy one, but nobody ever complains about them). To the best of my knowledge, neither has eaten anybody either. Though cats have been missing from time to time (if they make it to my yard, where my properly restrained dogs are...), and the Mastiff caught some birds when she was younger (all but destroyed the bush the birds were in though).

Compensating for inadequacies? I don't think so. I am the Alpha to my dogs. Takes a strong will to do that. Maybe you should stick with stuffed kitties....

I claim no knowledge of your weiner size.
Only that my weiner weighs 19 lbs.

That makes me miss my Akita I had as a kid. Mine was only about 100lbs, but they taught me how to walk.

Kind of explains a lot....:wierd:

This is turning into quite the pissing match....
Congrats on your new puppy, I got a second aussie cattle dog 2 winters ago, its fun having 2 of the same breed, also its fun to see what the new puppy learns from the older dog.
I like my midsize dogs, 50lbs, tougher then nails and could wreck anybody who tries to make off with my XJ...cattle dogs are great fun :yelclap:
