i have a 96 2dr with a 5 spd and i hhave a 5.5" RE coming in the next few days. i have the truck apart and im just wondering if thee is any last things i should worry about for the install besides anti sieze and stuff like that. I also need to find replacement bolts and was thinking of home depot ut not sure if im gonna get what i need. I need bolts for UCA and LCA leafs and shackles where should i look????

you have lost the bolts? Where ever you go get grade 8 or 10.9metrics. a specialty fastener place would be the best if you have one. DroP brackets or Long arm? those installs will take the longest.
you'll need a good set of tools, some grease, brake fluid, and a cheap parts store down the road. how were your upper shock bolt

i broke 2 of 3 but just drilled bigger and tapped i may have to drill out the shock a little to fit the bolt. I had to do alot of cutting and grinding i have alot of cancer on my truck.

well that part is done i had to cut alot, but all parts are off the truck. My main concern is finding bolts i was told they must be exact as stock. Is this true my lift is coming soon i goot get out and find bolts

Don't get your suspension bolts from Home Depot. Best they will have is marginal chinese brand grade-5 or unmarked grade 2. Grab the yellow pages and find a local bolt/fastener dealer.

Never use less than grade 8 on suspension or frame areas. If you do you are asking for a failure sooner or later and if it is a street driven vehicle then you are being unsafe and could be held liable if anyone is injured.

You're just trying to fire up the grade5 vs grade8 debate again aren't you? Anyway I prefer grade 8 for critical stuff, but in many cases a grade5 bolt is just fine. Most hitches are supplied with grade 5 bolts.

X eleventy billion on going to junkyard to find the bolts

I always use new bolts (except on the trail) because you never know what stresses the JY bolts have been under. Cheaper is not always the best route.

X2 on the "lots of beer" comment...lol...

On the other hand, the junkyard is about the only place to find some of the more unusual bolts (unless you want to pay $25 each at the dealer)

'except on the trail' haha. if you built your junk with the new bolts why are they breaking? Stop

The stock LCA 10.9's are plenty beefy. I would replace the uppers, the UCA axle side bolt is a weird one.

I havea coffee can of odds and ends that i carry with me that include bolts, nuts and assorted washers among other junk. Over the years I have found uses for some of it from time to time (not always my own breakdown) and feel more comfortable with that being along for the ride. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
