Two questions for the tail light CB antenna mount guys.

For all you guys who made your own above the tail-light CB antenna mounts. Two questions:

1. I made one up lastnight and was wondering if you just used the stock tail light bolt and added another sheet metal scew or just attached it on its own.

2. After you painted the mount did you sand the mount where it butts up with the body for a better ground? How did you ground it out?

I originally drilled one of the holes too close to the tailight assembly, it became my ground.

I just took a self tapping screw and put one through the antenna base hole.

It is a little too far out for my taste, but it's not a big deal.

My home made mount is coated with that plasticoat tool handle dip stuff, but the screws are grounding it. I just peeled some of the coating off where the screw head touches the bracket. I used lock washers inside the fender to complete the ground on that side.
