moving steering box

i have an 86 xj with a small block chevy motor and need a bigger radiator. is it possible to move the steering box a couple inches towards the firewall...or should i say what problems might arise from doing this move? im at 6" and plan on doing new steering otk with heims and figured now would be the time to ask about this. those extra couple inches would allow a much larger radiator.:jester:

Seems like you might run into issues with your steering. Things like steering damper hitting steering linkages. Linkages hitting diff cover. Linkages hitting sway bar mounts. Etc, etc. You might get away with running a shorter (not less drop, but shorter throw) pitman arm. Then that might create slower steering response and less turning radius.

I think its more than likely going to be a can of worms. Have fun.
