Looking for 97+ OEM gas tank skid

Hey guys,

Figured I'd post this in here and see if anyone has seen 97+ gas tank skids more locally than just the entire country. I heard that the 96 and older models won't fit without some welding and cutting, but am not exactly sure why. The tanks appear to be the same size, but maybe it's the mounting locations? Explanation and help finding one would be appreciated....

The old tanks are metal and the new ones are plastic. They are shaped differently enough that the skids don't cross.

I just got one for my 01 by going on uneedapart.com They send out your part request to salvage yards who get back to you via e-mail. For the part pick "other" (Skids aren't an option) and describe the part you need.

That sucks. I think a got an e-mail back the day after submitting the request. Salvage yard in NY state. All I can think of is to resubmit since yards are always getting new junk in. The yard is BH Auto Parts, Burnt Hills , N.Y.

look for a ZJ gas tank skid... they are the same widths and youll just need to drill some holes

haha i didnt even realize i posted to both by the same thread starter...im using a zj skid so i know from experience
