few axle swap ?'s

Well i just picked up my 4x4 '91 cherokee with a d35 rear end and want to swap in the 8.25 rear end out of my 95 2wd. Will i come across any problems doing so? Any info on this would be much appreciated.

I have NO 1st hand experience but I've heard they are a bolt in swap.

new ubolts obviously, and possibly shorter driveshaft because of the longer pinion on the 8.25

Make sure the gears of the 8.25 match the D30 or bad things will happen! It is a bolt in, except U bolts are larger(get new ones) and possibly DS length issues.

i did this on my 2000 about a month ago, so some things might be different. The axle was a direct bolt in, e-brake cables and everything. U-bolts are obviously different, but after bleeding the brakes it worked fine, no ds length issues at all. At the same time i removed the ABS system on my xj, pulled the three relays/fuses under the hood and took the sensor wires out (unplugged from under rear seat then pulled them completely out). I understand that in the older ABS systems there might be some more work involved. Good luck

So does anyone know if its just as simple pulling the ABS on a '91?
