Ok I have an Original Miken Freak. The ASA 2004 stamp is on the end of the barrel and is almost completely worn off. Now of the local ASA Umps tol dme that I can get a metal band added to the end of the barrel that has the ASA stamp on it. And that some of the local sporting good stores do it. Has anyone heard of this? I have never heard of this but him being an actual blue I should be able to take his word. I would much rather get the band than pay the $600+ the are asking for the Freak on Ebay

I have never heard of that. Are you playing tournament softball or what? I'm a "recreational" softball player. D league coed. Fun hobby, what can I say, but we obviously have ASA umps, and they don't say a word about our bats. They're all legal bats, but still. Either way...I've never heard of that.

A good ASA ump would know what's on the banned list. If your bat is not, I'm sure he's not going to throw your bat out because the stamp is wearing off.

I've never had an ump check a bat, then again, I don't have some of that wild stuff they make now either.
