91 xj factory alarm

i have a 91 xj limited with a factory alarm. i lost the remote a few years ago and never bothered to replace it. for some reason my alarm is going off when the security isn't even set. in the middle of the day(or night) when the doors are unlocked. is there a glitch or something? a power surge or something that resets the computer? a bad alarm module? what i really want to do is disconnect the alarm and keyless entry all together. Has anyone else had this problem with the 91? i know it's the first year with the factory security system. my control module is under the dash, can i just unplug it? i don't want to take it to a dealer.

actually it's a 92' xj. sorry.

Looks like all the guy in this post did was unplug the module under the dash and plug the two plugs together to disable the factory alarm.

FWIW my GF's 93 ZJ does the same random alarm stuff too.
