HELP!, I put my xj in reverse and it died

Ok, last night I went to back out of a parking spot and it started up normal but then right when I put it in reverse it died. Then I tried to re-start it and all it would do is turn over. It acted like it wasn't getting fuel or spark, and as of now my beloved xj is stranded at wally world. Any idea's?

Crankshaft Position Sensor.

Thats what I was thinking, either that or my fuel pump, but I don't think is was just cowincidence that it died when I stuck it in reverse.
