Yeah, I have a noisy rear, too. It stinks, sometimes.

When im going down the road between 40 to 50 miles an hour the hole truck starts to shimmy or shake. it also makes a rumbling sound. If i get on the gas the noise starts to go away. If I let off and then get back on the gas again it starts to come back again. Once over 50 miles an hour it does not do it anymore.

yes it is but you will have to replace the carrier with one for a 29 spline....

I have also encountered the same problem. I just replaced the rear end with the stock set up (8.25) and the truck is a 95' and the rear end came out of a 99. I don't have the noise but I do have the shimmy. I just replaced the rear u-joint as well.

The 8.25 rear on my 95 has been noisy since I got it. I got it at 110 thousand miles, now it's at 263. I stopped worrying.
