Anyone ever try making a kelly blue book for XJs? might come in handy even though the best way to determine how much money you jeep is worth is take the original MSRP subtract how much work and accessories you put into it, divide by the years old it is and viola your jeep is worth that much.

Paint: $800 Maco(sp?)
Lift: $650
Tires: $1060 x2
Rear Main Seal: $34
Total: $3604
1988 Base Model MSRP(esitmated): $13000
Years old: 18
Actual price in todays market: $522 - 2 for the new air freshner = $520

your formula takes nothing into effect for market value and or individual parts value also maintenance items dont ADD value to a vehicle, it is assumed that they have been done anyway

a better formula is to estimate the value of what you would receive in cash if you parted the rig out.

your premise on value is totally mistaken. I built an 88 for 4200 and sold it 3 years later for 4500

MARKET VALUE is where the true value is, what ever the market will bear.

I take the value of parting it out and start there when I sell one and never have sold one below that price. Study Ebay, graph yourself every Xj that sells options, after market parts, lifts, highly modified and you will see you are way off base

mine has a new suspension and everything works, even the AC blows nice and cold. :D

lots of new stuff too, radiator, heater core hoses, heater valve, crank pulley etc.
