MJ shackles on XJ

Have these new MJ shackles and need to know what is the best way to mount them.They will fit either way, Do I want the spring eye in front or rear of the frame eye?
These are on 4.5" RK springs by the way.

If I understand your question correctly, with weight on the springs the shackle should be pointed somewhat rearward with respect to the frame.

Let me explain in more detail--The mounts in the shackle are not perpindicular,the spring bolt hole is about 1 bolt hole width off from straight ,So you suggest to turn shackle so the spring hole is behind the frame mount.Which is opposite from the way the old ones are,but who knows if they were done right years ago.
