Air Bag Light

Hi Guys;

Please help.

My airbag light stays on and the horn dont work.
It is a 1998; 4.0 Litre petrol .Jeep Cherokee.

any ideas will be appreciated.

Another member on here pointed out to me that there is a recall on the airbag system that should apply to to your jeep also. The horn is probably a seperate problem being that they are separate circuts and do not share wiring (horn does not run through clockspring)

actually, I thought if the clockspring was causing the problem, your horn wouldn't work either. This is how I understood it

Basically the clockspring's purpose is to insure electrical contact with the airbag module in the steering wheel. Wiring for the horn and cruise control also go through the clockspring.
