I think I am going to be at spot Motel6, room unknown!!

I may camp, though. I need a reason to buy a tent...

I am going up Friday morning around 10:00. I have to wait for my mother-in-law to arrive and drop my wife off at the airport.

This will be my 3rd year! I encourage everyone to come out. Friday is the trail maintenance day, then Sat is the trail runs, BBQ. & raffle.

See you all in about 4 weeks!

well I should have my heep back up with the rockjock 60 front and 14 bolt rear just about the weekend this is planned for, so I booked two spots 89 and 91, If I cant make it I will sell off my spots for face value to other NAXJA members at least. But I think I will make it. With extra room for others if anyone cares to pay for some of the camp site $ then your welcome to join in on my land lol...

front had twisted in the pumpkin and the inner C bent.

Rear is slightly bent and blew out the bearings.

Ive got a new front with new gears and a truss sitting on my porch but i cant get the ball joints out with my bfh. So when i have time ill do it right. The rear im getting re-tubed and throwing in new bearings.

Also, should folks cancel their existing reservation or hold off until you guys post up? I just looked on the recreation.gov site. There is a $10 cancellation fee.

So you saying that the "loop" that was mentioned wont be used now?
I think that is what he is saying which is why my last post shows it is still possible to use what some of us have already reserved and fit everyone else there too.

theres been enough room in that area in past years so why not this one?

Remi, what I took from your earlier posts was that some one was gona try and get a are to our selves this year and that was posted weeks ago, I and others asked for updates since then and got nada so I figured it wasnt happening. some one elses suggestion was if we dont hear anything to just make reservations in the are of last year........so thats what I did. Could I have waited a couple more weeks for information and reservations.....possibly BUT would there still be spots open where we could camp as a group? who knows. I try very hard to not be a last minute decision maker and if I haddent started thinking of this 4 weeks ago (when I started bugging the wife and my boss) I more than likely would not be going.

Im not bashing or trying to be difficult just voicing my opinon

I agree, one month out and nada is a little close for my lifes planing. Even at a month I have to confirm that I will make it due to jeep and personal other plans. But I am thinking its poss.

As for the camp ground. Its Cinco de mayo weekend! You think the latino crowd doesnt like to camp as a family then your in for some surprise I am thinking when it comes to availibility its going to be hard to find soon, or so IMO.

So I booked what I was reading was in the "In" location.

In any case if its not with the group thats cool. I not huge on having to be in the hype, but close to it would be nice still.

Um yeah I am sometimes a outsider. But either early in this thread or the other one I posted that I had booked 89 & 91 over a week ago.

If anyone wants to buy some land from me thats cool. I got two spots thinking if I dont use it all I can recop some of the 122$ and rent out some of the excess.. 15$ per night if interested. thats less then half. Just tring to be fair...

I will only have me and maybe my 14yo daughter (doubtful) and maybe a buddy and his TJ. It looks to be a pretty good sized two side by side sites. I do drink, and do snore. And dont liek lots of smoking near me in camp. so if you can live with that your welcome.

The Hildy clan* will be there, in a stock 4x4 Suburban (no XJ yet :-( ), booked at site 83. Looking forward to meeting more of y'all.

Planning on the stocker run(s) with cal... dunno what all's up there, the suburban's offroading has been so far limited to the mojave road (twice; the second time with no damage! :-) ).

*clan, at this time, means me, wife, and six kids (6 mos -> 9 yrs).

Well the last time I was interested in a charcoal BBQ it was just before the drought ended last yr I think it was. And they were having nothing non gas out of the pit. in the pit I dont think they care or would know.

Gerr

burn it in the pit and if they ask you toss a pice of wood on and say whats the differnce they shouldnt care though unless they say no fires at all

Last year the SBNF changed their fire regulatuions. Wood and Charcoal fires are ONLY permitted in designated fire rings at developed sites. (developed sites are campgrounds, picnic areas and yellow post sites).

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/conditions/

Fire conditions change. Currently fires are allowed in designated fire rings at developed sites. By the middle to the end of the summer expect that no campfires or charcoal fires to be allowed. Only gas stoves.

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/passes/

Campfire Permits - You can help protect the forest from wildfires by knowing and following rules for the safe use of fire. You must obtain a California Campfire Permit if you plan to build a campfire in a yellow post site or use a stove, unless you are in a developed recreation area (campground or picnic area). Wood and charcoal fires are never permitted outside yellow post sites, picnic areas or campgrounds.

You forgot to mention if you have a onboard welder and get caught using it on the trail with out a fire permit in your possion it is a $2000.00 minimum fine if the fire danger is above low. I have seen 2 of those tickets given out in big bear by differnt rangers
