Hi guys,

I'm looking for anyone local who has a 29 spl 8.25 handy? Looking for a complete axle. missing shafts are ok since I have a spare.

I have a housing out of a jeep liberty....still has all the brackets on it, I was going to use it for myself, but I got a smoking deal on an 8.8. I think it is about and inch wider, backing plate to backing plate.....25 bucks and you can have it...I don't need it

i dont have the housing but ive got the 3rd member with decent bearings on it you're welcome to it if you want it josh

preferably, looking for an XJ 8.25 so I dont have to do much with the perches. a complete axle is ideal. thanks tho

i just call it a 3rd member now because everyone i know looks at me like a tard when i call it a carrier.

its really called a carrier. 3rd members are used on Toyotas, Ford 9s, Curries.

it could be a traclok carrier. Those clutches were hidden pretty well on mine until I took it apart and a clutch ring fell out.

i know what to call it im ASE certified for christs sake. i already explained i called it the 3rd member becuase every moron that comes into my parts store calls it a 3rd member and im just used to calling it that. excuuuuuuuse me.


anyways, josh - i had to go to AMC auto salvage right next to ecology today because i couldnt find a window. i know he has multiple 8.25s there, if you can get him to sell you just the housing cheaper than the whole thing i'll give you the carrier i have for free, just make sure he gives you the bearing caps that hold the carrier in. heres the number if you want it, 310-830-6880 its off of avalon and lomita, right past the ecology yard. he's usually a little pricey but if you need it, he's got it.
