Doorless in CT

I have not got an offical response from anyone really, and I asked a state trooper and he wasnt sure.

Is it legal to run doorless in CT if you have the mirrors relocated??

Also, if it is illegal, would cops hassle you about it, or just give you a warning or fine or what?


Anyone currently running doorless in CT? I dont see why its really a problem since wranglers run without them all the time, some mail trucks, ups trucks, ect.

I'd suggest talking to whoever does the vehicle inspections. in DE the, the state has inspection lanes at the DMV offices, but in PA, they license various garages to do the inspections.

i know that the reason wrangers are allowed is cuz of door threshhold area is like 4 or so inches up from the floor. i have a friend who i saw driving around with no doors on his xj. i dont know if he ever got talked to about it. most cops dont know about thoes laws. technicly, in ct its illegal to have over 3 or 4 inches of lift! lol. and the second you cut into a frame, its illegal as well. but the only law i have ever seen or heard about being enforced is having your tires stick out over 2 or so inches. i say run it whatever and you will only get a warning. u gotta find out somehow

The only way to know for sure is to find your state's code and read it.

It sounds like you'd be legal, even if you don't relocate your mirrors. The impression that I got was that you only need one, but you need to read that code for yourself.
