14 bolt question for a friend.

hey guys.
a buddy of mine is building a ford up..[hes not man enough for a jeep :spin1: ] and hes got a 14 bolt out back, with 5.13s. he heard that some years/models? came stock with detroit lockers in them.

my question is this:
1) is there any truth to this? and
2) if so, which model vehicles and years would be good to look at in the junkyard, to make searching for it easier?

Typically the government/CUCV models came with a Detroit and 4.56s. They're pretty easy to find at surplus auctions etc, I got mine from a vendor on Pirate who buys them in bulk.

Those are the only OEM Detroit ones I know of, but there was a limited-slip version available in regular production trucks.
