Hey Fish,

I will probably pre-run Holcomb Creek and/or Dishpan Springs within the next few weeks.

I will post up next week. Go to do a little work on the XJ. We still have to get Odette's TJ up there and run Gold Mtn and Jacoby. Maybe I will get lucky enough to go twice!!

One of the other post in the "SoCal Fest 2007" main thread (http://www.naxja.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=180) should provide all of these details.

I know that Remi, Cracker, and Seqouia are all working on this.

I would look for more info later this week.

Usually, Remi or Ron take care of the food. It's BYOB. The food is usually about $10 per person. This will take care of the food and give a little to the chapter.

There is usually a nice raffle, but time is running short, so I am not sure what we can expect this year.

The past two years have been a blast. Personally, I love Big Bear and the trails are fun. It is not JV, that's for sure, but there are some challenging and scenic (as well as historic) trails there. There is almost something for everyone! I say almost because the non-street legal guys (buggies) don't have alot of places to run. Most of the trails are green sticker, meaning they have to be smogged and street legal. (I think)

Like I mentioned earlier, Friday is the chapter adopt-a-trail and it is a great time. There are Forest Service guys with us and last year they took us to a few unmarked areas. Also, gettting to give back tot the Forest Service by volunteering and maintaining a trail is a great way to say "Thank you!"

Id like a 12 pack of carona, a bottle of patron, and oh a side of beef........what are veggies?

sereously though the food saturday night the last couple years has been top notch and if you bring a little extra of whatever beverage you like there will be more than enough stuff from everyone to make the night interesting.

What is goin on with the raffle this time?

Sounds good! Just make sure they have the required gear for what ever run they do....

Usually tow points, seat belts, roll bar or hard top, etc.. Some runs may require a small lift, bigger tires, at least one locker etc...

BUT, there is something for everyone, so bring 'em all....

Head count is 2, maybe 3.

Looking to get in late Thursday night and leave Sunday.

Camping in Serrano, 92/93 (the double site).

Veggies are what you feed to cows and pigs to make them edible.

best answer Ive ever heard

One of my favorites:

I love animals......

and they taste great!

bburge
April 7th, 2007, 18:44
Quotes for meat:

Anthony Bourdain (Food Network personality): "Tony gets hungry; something dies"

Me: "I'm wary of plants. With all the pesticides and stuff; I have all my produce field tested on barnyard animals and eat the ones that don't die."

"I've never met an animal I didn't like. How I like them depends on the animal - grilled, baked, boiled, rare, medium rare, etc"

I used go with a friend to lunch at El Pollo Loco a lot. He said, "you must really like chicken". I explained, "Nope, I hate chickens. I used to have to care for them on my dad's farm. Nasty, vile spiteful animals - I eat one very chance I get. It's not love - it's revenge..."

(Since vegetarians categorize themselves based on the exceptions to just eating plants, I came up with this:)
"I'm a lacto-ovo-piscine-ovine-porcine-bovine-avian-cervine-caprine-leverine-(and even a little "feline" - if you know what I mean... Wink ) vegetarian."

Well gang,

I will not be able to make it up there on Friday for the Clean-up. I will be driving up late Friday evening. I have to wait until my mother-in-law get off of work and drives down. I am figuring I will get to leave OC around 7:00 PM. She will be here earlier, but I am not driving in that traffic.

See you all then!

Yeah... I'll be there ;)

My dad probably as well... Not sure about the nephews this year...

Everybody bring your cash. There will be a raffle, as usual we won't know the full ist of stuff until it's there but I do know I"ve got a few things lined up and I'm sure Remi has as well.

Also - everybody who can come up for the maintenance on Friday! THe more people we have the faster it's done. The faster it's done the more time we have to play on Friday ;)

After the maintenance I suggest we hit Pontiac Sluice / Onyx Loop as it may be the last time we can do it

Hello to all,

I'm a new paying member to NAXJA. I intend on attending the Big Bear function, w/ 1 guest. I intend to arrive on Friday afternoon and will be there the entire weekend. I'll be at campsite 67 at Serrano.

I drive a white 92' Cherokee. 4.0L with K&N cold air intake and a Jet Performance Stage II chip. It has a RE 4.5 lift, soon to be a Rock Krawler 8" Long Arm., with over the knuckle steering conversion and AGR Rock Ram Steering Assist, (Hopefully before the event) Dana 30 front, Dana 44 Rear,410 gears frt and rear, ARB Air Lockers, front and rear. nerf bars on the rockers. Mile Marker 9000 lb Winch, custom front bumper.

Big Bear is one of my favorite places to wheel. I think I've done John Bull about 7 times since getting my jeep last July.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Are you talking about me? :spin1:

Yes, I will be there Friday through Sunday. Staying in a rental house.

I will have 4 other friends who are not NAXJA people. Some of you know James and Chris in the TJ from the last Calico run. And another couple who have a bone stock 2-door XJ (but they'll be riding with me on the runs).

So, 5 people and 2 vehicles. Then there are the 3 other NAXJA bums also staying with us, but they can speak for themselves.

good luck man....dont let it get you down and dont let it ruin your fun it's all about the family and as the kids grow up they will apreciate the time and effort for special outings and in general doing something fun. Some of the best memories come from the time after my parents divorced and my Dad took the time to show me what the mountains were for. We will see you when you get up there.
