97 xj 4.0 auto
When im stopped and not moving my temp gage reads normal at 210.
Then when i accelerate, it goes all the way down.
Could this be a faulty gage?

Anbody else?
Maybe bad sensors?
Whats the one on the back of the head do?
Could it be my thermostat? housing? sensor?

Is it just your temp guage? I have a 98 XJ and I was having my airbag light come on and my speedo and tach. dropping to zero and my other guages freezing were they were.. all i did to fix it was pull the guage pod off clean the two connection terminals and that fixed it, i belive the 97s guage pod connects the same as a 98

97+ XJs only use the temp sensor on the thermostat housing. They no longer use the sensor on the back of the head for the gauge.
