Easy trail suggestions based on my explorations last year,

1. Redcloud loop shortcut including a ranch full of petroglyphs and the east and west rims of Ashly gorge

2. dewey bridge trek ending with a visit to the island park area of Dino. Ntl Pk

3. Yampa bench tour in Dino. Ntl Pk
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/xjblue/Dinosaurland/vernal06_a19.jpg

all three each make a good day of exploring.

Redcloud may depend on conditions but it's been pretty dry this season.

4. there is also a steep scenic overlook type road I explored two years ago that leaves the more popular part of the park (entrance fee) and takes you up to Pine Point for a shorter easy run.

For hard trails either or both of the ones we did before would be fun.

Those look great and if we get enough people to throw a couple runs a day together we should do that.

I would really like to get back over to the area we ran the first year. We have done a ton of easy to moderate stuff this year and am really looking forward to a little more hardcore stuff other then in just Moab.

I really want to make this one! We need to hit "buck crack" again, that was way cool. A half day at Devils Rock Pile would be great too. Ashley gorge looks like a good run also. My .02 cents...

Ok, Ok lets get er done!!!!! I'm game. Camping if you just need to throw a tent up you are welcome to stay at my place I have plenty of grass to sleep on, and even a fire pit. Just let me know. Or there is Koa campgrounds, if you need a motel you might want to look into that now. We can also BBQ at my house if you want. Just thought I would offer.

Can you get some info on some of your local lesser known trails and get back to me via PM?

When we were there two years ago the trails you took us on rocked. I would love to do something simalar to that again. Let me know.

I really wanted to go, but I figure Tamara follows me around on my hobbies, so I better support her hobby. Especially since the competition is by invitation only. Besides, think of all the sexy bellies that are gonna be there!:spin1:

I bet it involved water and a hole in said water surrounded by fiberglass.

15 years in a row with at last 1 Moab trip, I don't plan on breaking the streak... but I've gotta get my Heep back first. :(

I'll borrow my wife's XJ and go stock (again) if I have to.

What direction from Vernal are most of the trails? If we stayed by Cedar Springs, would we be way too far away from the trails? If the trails are that direction from Vernal we wouldn't mind the drive each morning.

Seems to me the idea of Going to Vernal this year isn't flying over that well.

Should we maybe change the May run to a single day somewhere?

How many people are actually going to go to Vernal?

Clint

I was going to plan on meeting Jared Friday night in Vernal, camping, and running around Saturday and most of Sunday sight seeing. That is if this official trip didn't work out.
