Instrument cluster swap?!

Okay... What I have: 89 XJ with a no gauge cluster (only speed and fuel)
And a full gauge cluster from a 93 XJ (All the goodies). Is it possible to swap instrumnet clusters and make gauges work? I picked up the AM pillar mount, but thought that it would be sweet to have the stock one too. SO.. talk to me :helpme:
