Im in the process of trying to remove the u-joints out of the rear driveshaft on my '89 XJ. I got the snap rings out, and have been trying to hammer the ujoint cap out of the yoke, but it wont budge. Any ideas?

if you've got an autozone/advance/pep boys nearby go and rent the balljoint tool. It makes short work of u-joints. Rental is steep though, like $100. Easiest thing to do if you're in a bind and need it back on the road.

The Autozone Loan-A-Tool program is free. You have to pay a deposit to get the tool but you get it back when you return it intact.

still doesn't change the fact that you need $100 to get the tool.
