triming a quarter panel

I had no clue how to do mine but they came out great. I cut the outer sheetmetal at the bottom edge of the body bulge but left the inner metal. I cut and trimed a piece of 2X6 to fit in the gaping hole from the inside and used short deck screws to secure it. Then I trimed the inner metal that was left and folded it up agaist the 2x6 and used more deck screws. The inside got expanded spray foam and the underside got undercoat. When I built the bumper I ran some 2x4 tubing foward off the bumper for added protection. This is a great mod for an Xj and is easy because you dont need much to get it done. Cut and grind your outer edge perfectly square and the average jo will never know it has been cut.
