True Newb Question

Just what is the dark plastic thing just above the rearview mirror, at the headliner just above the top of the windscreen? Looks for all the world like an IR sender, but ???

I have never owned a user manual for an XJ, and am sure it would say, but having owned 3 with that thing, inquiring minds want to know!

Keyless entry receiver. Completely useless, most only work if your standing RIGHT next to the door.

I think it's the evil-overlord spy-eye...



x2 on the Keyless entry thingie. I just talk to mine and call it 'HAL'.

Don't worry, I thought it was a garage door opener when I first got my XJ.....I have an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry so I took it out later on anyway, plus I didn't have the origional remotes.....so out it went.

Sorta looks like a nipple.
