NW forum is aweful quiet. thought i'd try and spark some chat. so what is everyone doing or need to do to prep for NW fest?
Myself, i am trimming sheet metal like crazy. after sand lake last weekend rubbing the $!%@# outta my fenders. even my kids are getting in on the action. still need to tie in the rear bumper, and recharge all the fluids. otherwise i am ready to rock n roll. well hopefully just rock.

Workin on trimmin out the rear fenders as well. Fronts are done.

Waiting on gears from Alabama, 4.56's for the D30 and 8.25. Maybe an Aussie locker in the front.
Building a rear leaf pack. XJ main leaf and XJ second leaf added to a set of stock leafs. Hoping for about 2-3" of lift out of them. Just gotta pull the other apart, and go from there. Trying to track down some 3" lift front coils. Anyone have any? Trying to avoid the hassle of V8 ZJ springs, would rather go with something that will give more in the end.

Put some new tires on about 3 weeks ago. Gotta love the white wheels.
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d112/jeepin789/Jeep%20pix/100_1607.jpg
Will try to fab up a TC shield. Got to install the Wally World daylighters somewhere. Have to tie in front bumper better. Installed some mini lights up front, done. Scrounging up parts for spares, like drivelines, axle shafts, steering. Im traliering down, so if anything major breaks, I won't have to 'find' a way back. More to come.

I got a pair of 3" rancho springs you can have. They were on my jeep for 10yrs and might have a little sag to them, but still will work.

Replacing all fluids... that's a good one, maybe I'll look into that.
I feel doom imminent at NWFest for me, so without tow points and a hitch, I might not go. I spend all my food monies on school. Damn school.

On the Fifth week , I FINALLY have my rear bumper finished. Spent the rest of the evening going through the garage looking for bolts for my Rock rails or Transfer case skid.
Tomorrow/Today (Monday) I am headed to pick up a longer CB wire for my antenna. When we get home, my brother and I are going to continue digging through the pile. First parts found are mounted first.

Lets see. I got the transfer case all back together and working. The trans skid is back on. The rear bumper is done (at least most of it, it still needs a couple of holes drilled with quick disco's for air) and mounted properly, gas tank skid is back on. Those of you who have wheeled with me without a rear bumper for what, almost 3 years now, will never believe it. I pulled the line off for my OBA and I am hoping to get a new one made up before the event. I also should make new rear mud flaps (gave mine to the guy who bought Scott's jeep for the drive down to Cali). Other than that, I "might" change the oil and put in new engine mounts at the same time (custom made ones). Not sure yet. I also want to get two new tires for the motorhome.
Phil, not sure how your doing your shelf, but If I was to re-do mine I would run a support all the way across the back section of the shelf just for added structure, I would also use wing nuts and bolts to put it together so it was a little easier to remove quickly. Just some thoughts. Let me know if you want more details.
I am ready, almost:)

Both diffs torn down, ready for the gears, on Friday night, Saturday morning. Have to tie in front bumper better. Rear leaf packs halfway done. Fender trimmage done. Front springs in. Gathering spares(DS's and axles). Looking for quick TC skid idea. Have to mount spare somewhere. Looks like a busy weekend for me. Possibly half doors when all else is done. After about 6+ hours invested into the front gears, Im done with them. One word of advice, don't do gears on a dirty, greasy Jeep, wearing just shorts. By the time I was done rolling in the dirt and gear oil, I was dirtier than the Jeep itself. Then I remembered I had no soap, so I had to bathe with comet and dish soap. Ouch. No pictures of me in the shower.. Thank what ever god you believe in for that.
Kind of a biotch to set-up. My first Dana. Older axles are a lot easier to do. Yukon 4.56's, Yukon master install, Spicer carrier, awaiting a lunchbox locker of some sort. Thanks Phil for the parts. :) And John for the spares.

I have to thank James - XJLaredo
He came out and after BSing for a while. Listening to my depresing jiberish, and coaxed me into getting the Rock Rails on.
James,
I got that last bolt in after you took off.
Afterwards, my wife and I debated getting the Air compresser going or possibly splurging for some type of Powertank.
Installed my rear shelf and worked as far as I could. I have to go and get some longer screws tomorrow and finish the wiring.
I probably won't get the gauge installed or the air tanks, but I will hook up the air compressor for airing up the tires. I guess I will yank the fuse to turn the thing off, for now.
Gotta finish the Rock rails tomorrow after a trip to Tacoma Screw. Will trim the fenders, a little. Then get as far as I can with the compressor.
Thank you James
See y'all Thursday

All i need to do now is change oil and re-tighten all front suspension bolts.
