How do I make my girlfriend love my Jeep?
Since we moved in together we got rid of her Honda (a small victory) I now make her drive my Jeep to school while I take the Ell (that how we say subway with crappy service and the wonderful bum smell, in Chicago) She still does not like my jeep but she has driven it in snow and does see the wonders of four wheel drive.
Any advice?
I would like to buy her an XJ Limited or a Grand Cherokee, but she has ridden in my Fathers Grand and she was indifferent toward it.
So how do I make her love my Jeep, she keeps calling it the "other women".
Help

Dude my girlfriend has been jelous towards the Jeep since i met her and we've been going out a little over 2 years. She has started liking it more though. I just get her involved in all the offroading i do, and make sure she gets shot gun and try to associate her and the Jeep with good times rather then her sitting in the house while im out with my buddies wrenching on it. Just make good times out of both her and the Jeep, she'll warm up to it.

I agree with above. Make sure she is out in it on the trails. My wife did not like my yj at first but since we moved to Utah she understands why I like it so much. You can get places and see things that others cant get to. We are in a selected group of people.

Take her for a 4wd picnic in it...
Or on a romantic weekend getaway...
Do fun things, romantic things, or even just memorable things in your Jeep. It's an associative thing.
On the other hand, always remember you can't 'make' her do anything. It'll come down to her, and her only.

Tell her you will get a Vette if you sell the XJ. Girls like Vettes (if you know what I mean) The only thing worse than the other woman is a better looking other woman. :D

my wife says she is a "jeep widow"......but she also helps me wrench on them and goes on almost all of the trail rides.

Get rid of her and find a woman that love Jeeps as much as you do.

Take her on some very scenic runs on a beautiful day. Make it a fairly easy drive AND LET HER DRIVE.

Yeah i did that she didnt really like it, it was too quarky and wierd to handle for her, especially with no sways. but try it.

Oh well, I could never get my husband to get in a jeep if his life depended on it. Sometimes I guess they just can't catch the fever.

just be warned....you might not get your jeep back.
Oh and you aren't supposed to let her drive it on the road silly. Of course its going to scare the crap out of her. At least it will if you built your jeep right.
Its OFF road where you need to let her drive it.

My one question is why you think she has to have one of her own to love yours. Maybe she'd just as soon have another Honda, and why not?
My wife loves my Jeep, but not to drive. She has no problem with my having a couple of XJ's around. Of course part of that has to do with snow. She hates to drive in snow. I don't, so the Jeep gets plenty of winter action.
We don't wheel very hard, but we both love photography, and like to get out into the woods. It didn't take too many episodes of "no problem, we'll just go up that little trail...don't worry about the [log/rock/ditch/slope/ford/mud]...plenty of room..that's not a problem..." to start hearing, "Gee, I really like your Jeep."
But don't count on her wanting to do the driving. Just hope she enjoys the ride.

the Doc is a wise man. i let the wife drive at the dunes last month and she was telling me on the way home that i didnt let her drive enough!
alas, my toy is now the wifes DD!:tears:
just pick a run thats not too dificult or scary and let her drive if she wants to. dont force her to do any obsticals she doesnt want to do. let her be amazed at some of the places you can take the jeep and the beautiful scenery. if shes the outdoorsy type, then shell bite. just be sure not to do something to ruin the fun like forgeting to pack an adequit lunch.
