Your best bet will be to search on www.craigslist.com or www.autotrader.com

Of course checking out the For Sale sections on NAXJA is a great start too.

now, for $1000, what are your requirements? needs to be running, 4x4, 2 or 4 door, stick or auto? No, I am not being a jerk, just gonna help search.

You can also look into the newspaper ads for LA, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino....

i got a steal on my XJ, it's a little risky, but i'm sure with the assistance of the guys here, you can get a good deal on craigslist - i got my '96 for $1500, already lifted, and runs like a champ - i have only come across one minor problem since i've had it - i'll paruse the san diego craigslist and post any links i can find!
