is there c-clips on the front 97 d30 to pull the axle shafts? i have to relplace the u-joints and don't want to open the diff if i don't have to. also how hard are the to press out of the axle shafts?

No c-clips. Remove hub, yank axle out. Done and done. They are just as easy as doing driveline u-joints, IMO.

Don't bother to take the nut off the end of the axle or remove it from the bearings. Take the shaft and bearings out together, replace the uJoint and put them back in together.

Getting that nut off is the easy part; it's breaking the seal between the hub and the knuckle that's a pain in the ass.
