my guess is that it's a detours winch mount?

Nope, he made that before Detours released their product. He built a rectangular steel tube bumper w/ winch mount and fitted the stock plastic endcaps to it. Pretty slick.

I noticed how that was constructed on the trail. It is very nice, looks practically stock, but very beefy.

I used 2x6 1/4 wall tube, cut and welded to match the stock bumper curve. It's mounted with 14 bolts. Now if I could keep from ripping off the bumper ends....
