replacing comuter/ECM???????????????????

I am looking to replace my ECM, I found one but the #s are a lil different..My #s are 56041493ad then one i found is 56041493af, does anyone know if this would work for my 99 cherokee. I would appriciate and info. thanks.

Typically the the letter change at the end of a part number reflects an "updated" version of that particular part number, and really shouldn't pose a problem when replacing. In this case, it appears that there have been 2 revisions since the first part number you provided.

Since this is an electronic related item, the best bet is to call your parts department and confirm that this replacement will work. They also may be able to tell you what the revision was all about...
