its an xj thing

i had a question regarding the pacesetter header i bought for my 1990 xj 4.0 auto 4x4.

over the summer i bought a pacesetter header for the jeep. when i got it i tore the engine appart and found out when i put it on that it wouldnt clear the intake manifold. i took a hammer and flattened out the pipe that wouldnt clear and put it on. when i finally got the jeep all back together i put the front driveshaft back in and took it on a test drive. while on the test drive the front driveshaft hit the downpipe. so i took the driveshaft out and drove it around like that for a while. then coming out of the parking lot at work the other day it hit and sliced a hole in the downpipe. after 230 dollars worth of exhaust work to get it all replaced i went back to my stock manifold.

has anyone had these kind of problems with pacesetter before, or is it just me? i contacted pacesetter by email and they refuse to reply. so i dont know if they just dont want to fess up to a terrible product or if i just got a defect and they still dont want to deal with it.

thanx for any comments on this.

matt

pace setter is basically the cheapest header you can get. i have a thread on here about my egr bung being a full 1" off. other people had trouble with them, and i would never recomend ordering one of those products!
