Anyone local here who has experience working with raw sheet metal?
As in making panels for vehicles and such?
Since I cut the rear quarter panels out of my heep I need to fill the open holes with some new sheet metal panels but I need some advice.
TIA.

He thinks that anyone that can consume their own body volume in alcohol in one single drink is a-ok, and, did you see the look on his face when he asked her what was in that drink? I don't think he's ever heard of that many kinds of rum before. :D
The bottles you left are dissappearing at a rapid rate. Sour Apple Martinis... :D

Really we don't want you to fix those holes in the rear of Stinky II. Stinky II must stink. How are we going to get a good funk brewing in that Jeep if you seal off all water access?

its way more simple then that. It just screws out of the side of the case.
Its right next to the speedo gear.
The one I have is sitting on my bench if you want to swing up sometime.

did you cut the outside sheet metal off? I've done it a couple of ways, cut a piece to fill in the holes with corners bent up on the patch piece and slip it in the hole, couple of spot welds and some putty and your closed up. another way I've done it, bend the outside sheet metal allong the line you would have cut back in, then trim to fit the wheel well and bottom of light, couple of tack welds and more putty/caulk. this way is a little easier if you don't want to paint the quarter pannel, the welding tends to burn paint:smsoap: ;)

Yeah I cut it off. The reason being I want to bend the inside sheet metal to do just what you said....spot welds since I lost a lot of structure and strength there. Im not worried about paint since I really want to paint it again anyway.

This Jeep must not stink, or the wife will not Jeep. I honestly don't know that I could take it. Stinky was horrid. It honsetly smelt like a wet dog rolled in chocolate. UGH, barf!

Now with our new big dog, I have a feeling that the wet dog smell is here to stay. Oh well, I guess it could be worse.

I need to download them to the computer, I'll do that tonight when I get home. But yes, since the sad hit and run of our poor Dana, we were so lost without her, so we now have Tobe. Tobe is an 8 month old half chocolate lab half weimaraner. He's awesome!
